GEME Subscription Terms and Conditions

Note: This subscription service is currently only available in the United States.
This document outlines the terms and conditions ("Terms") governing your subscription to the GEME Home Composter ("Device"). By subscribing to our service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Subscription Period and Payment
- The subscription period is one (1) year from the date of delivery.
- Payment is processed monthly, with the billing cycle corresponding to the date of your original order.
- During the subscription period, GEME provides comprehensive technical support for any usage issues or quality concerns with the Device. If quality issues cannot be resolved remotely, we will provide replacement services and manage the return process.
- You are entitled to a 90-day trial period. If you are not satisfied with the Device during this period, you may return it without incurring any early termination fees. After 90 days, but before completing one year, cancellation will result in a $200 early termination fee plus a $150 processing fee for the remaining commitment period.
- After subscription cancellation is confirmed, your next scheduled shipment (if any) will be delivered within 3 to 10 business days. This delivery time does not include remote areas such as Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories.
2. Shipping and Returns
- Your initial Device shipment is free of charge, with shipping costs covered by GEME.
- During the subscription period, GEME will cover shipping costs for any quality-related returns or exchanges.
- During the subscription period, GEME will cover shipping costs for subscription service necessities, such as Kobold refills.
- For returns not related to product quality issues, such as return of packaging boxes, GEME may charge a reasonable shipping fee.
- Following cancellation, you must ensure the Device is returned to the designated address within 10 business days. If the Device has quality issues, we will provide shipping. Otherwise, you may return it yourself or request a return shipping label from us (shipping fees may apply).
- Please keep the original packaging in good condition for potential future returns. If packaging is required for returns after cancellation and the original packaging is unavailable, we may charge a reasonable fee for replacement packaging.
3. Kobold Supplement Service

Subscription users are entitled to three (3) free annual Kobold
refill packages valued at $199 each:
- First refill: Automatically activated 3 months after subscription start
- Second refill: Automatically activated 6 months after subscription start
- Third refill: Automatically activated 9 months after subscription start
- Activation is processed through GEME Dots notifications, allowing users to download their refill voucher. For special circumstances, please contact support@geme.bio.
- For questions regarding Kobold Starter usage timing and distribution, please contact support@geme.bio. Under normal circumstances, the Starter does not need to be replaced annually. If reactivation is required, there may be an issue that our customer service team can help resolve.
4. Renewal and Termination
- After the initial subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew on a month-to-month basis. If you wish to terminate your subscription at the end of the initial period, please contact our customer service team in advance.
- During the subscription period, if unauthorized payments occur, please contact us for assistance. We will make every effort to resolve the issue. In cases of fraudulent subscription cancellations without proper termination procedures, we reserve our legal rights and may report negative credit information of malicious customers to relevant credit agencies.
5. Buyout Options and Pricing
If you are satisfied with the Device and wish to purchase it outright, we offer a buyout option. The buyout price varies based on the duration of your subscription:

6. Post-Buyout Changes
Upon exercising the buyout option, the following changes to your service will take effect:
- The lifetime maintenance service included in your subscription will be discontinued. Instead, you will receive a standard one-year manufacturer's warranty starting from the date of buyout.
- The complimentary Kobold supply service will be discontinued.
- Eligibility for free product upgrades will be discontinued.
- After buyout, you cannot convert back to the original subscription model. If you wish to continue with a subscription service, we will initiate a new subscription agreement for a new Device.
- We reserve the right to modify the buyout pricing and terms. Any changes will be communicated to you before you make your buyout decision.
7. Product Upgrades
- As a subscriber, you are eligible for free upgrades to newer GEME models when they become available.
- When a new generation of the GEME Home Composter is released, you will be required to return your current Device to receive the upgraded model.
- GEME will provide a return shipping label for your current Device, and shipping costs for the return will be covered by GEME.
- Your current Device must be in working condition and reasonably clean when returned. Excessive damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in additional charges.
- The upgrade process will not affect your current subscription terms or payment schedule.
8. Prohibition of Resale
- The Device provided under this subscription is for personal use only and may not be resold, rented, leased, or transferred to any third party without prior written consent from GEME.
- Unauthorized reselling or commercial redistribution of the Device or any subscription benefits (including Kobold refills) is strictly prohibited.
- Any attempt to resell or commercially redistribute the Device or subscription benefits will result in immediate termination of your subscription without refund, and you may be liable for damages.
- GEME reserves the right to take legal action against any subscriber found to be engaging in unauthorized resale activities.
9. General Terms
- Regular purchase promotions and discounts generally do not apply to subscription services.
- All intellectual property rights related to the Device and associated subscription services belong to GEME and ROKH SRL.
- We reserve the right to modify these Terms. We will maintain a historical record of all versions of these Terms.
