How to maintain GEME Kobold?

Well, this is an art instead of science. As we mentioned in How often should I add GEME-Kobold?, if you maintain really well, the Kobold can last for more than 1 year. But if some other factors could cause the Kobold less effectiveness, it will cause you need more supply Kobold or even replace the whole Kobold starter.

How to Detect the status of my GEME Kobold?​

The best status of the Kobold, when you use your hand to grab the material, it should stay in some shape for a while. Or else it is too dry.

Best practice​

  • When it is too dry, add 200ml to 500ml water to increase moisture.

  • When it is too wet, stop adding wet food waste in, and better press the dehumidify button, run for 3 days. If still hard and rock, maybe need to replace the whole Kobold starter.
