How long will it take to turn my food waste into compost?

For most daily leftovers, it takes around 6 to 8 hours to break down the waste.

Small bones take even more time.Note: While it takes a few hours or days to break down into compost, this is not yet finished compost. We recommend waiting at least 45 days before using it. Alternatively, you can mix the unfinished compost with soil at a 1:8 ratio to grow your plants.

Does it smell? How often should I replace the carbon filter?

It doesn't smell because it uses metal ion catalytic oxidation technology to neutralize odors. Unlike traditional composters, it doesn't use carbon filters, so there's no need to replace them. The filter is designed to last a lifetime.

How often should I clean the bin?

Technically, there is no need to clean the bin. It may not look great, and there might be a slight odor when you open the lid, but once the lid is closed, it remains clean and odorless.
The real question you might want to ask is: How often should I harvest the compost?

Don't exceed the full limit line

This is a hard limit. If it gets full, remove the compost as soon as possible.

Do not empty all of the compost

Every time you remove compost, leave some at the base so that the bacteria in the GEME Kobold can reproduce and continue processing new food waste.Keep the compost level aligned with the agitator shaft.

Recommended: Remove compost when the paddle is fully buried
