Understanding the Black Sooty Mold Issue

What Causes This Issue?

The black sooty mold or dirty appearance on your GEME Composter is primarily caused by our advanced metal ion oxidation technology in the filter system. During transportation, a very small amount of the microscopic catalysts can leak out and adhere to the frosted exterior shell. Due to the extremely fine particle size of these catalysts, they can be challenging to clean using conventional methods.

Is This a Serious Problem?

No, this is not a serious problem. The leaked catalyst particles represent less than 1% of the total catalyst content in the filter system. This minimal leakage does not affect the future performance or functionality of your GEME Composter. The device will continue to operate efficiently and effectively despite this cosmetic issue.

Can It Be Cleaned?

Yes, absolutely! The black powder can be thoroughly cleaned, and your GEME Composter can look as good as new. Please refer to our cleaning guide for detailed instructions on how to properly clean your device using our Special Cleaning Sponge.
